This is Loud & Proud's site. The website is now in desperate need of a complete makeover but that, I'm afraid, will have to wait. At the moment you'll have to make do with the occasional up date. Just so you know, I am now adding a "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. This site is designed to inform prospective members about the group, to let everyone know about forthcoming events and to buy tickets online, to allow parents of the group to download photos that they may not have copies of (If you have photos we don't, please email them to us so we can include them) and for parents, and others, to download the latest letter if they have mislaid theirs. Anyway, that's them, over there, on the left. That photo was taken during rehearsals on Monday 19th May 2008, 10 years, practically to the day, since the group was started. Lots more pics can be found on the photos page, and soon these will include lots of rehearsal photos from the beginning of 2008 and over 200 photos from the 10th anniversary concert. Revisit often as this is a sizable job but I will get to it. As mentioned above, this year is our 10th anniversary year and we have just staged, on Friday 27th June, a special show to celebrate this landmark, . There will be at least one review here shortly and possibly some short video clips. At this show some ex-members of Loud & Proud returned to perform as L&P Reprise. To see some pictures and read a little about some of those who came back, and a some who couldn't make it, click on their logo below: Amongst the buttons on the left, you will find a new one named "Video". As many of you know we are producing a DVD of the 10th anniversary show. To give you a small idea of what to expect I have placed a clip of the first song, "Fame", for your enjoyment. On the finished DVD there will be some suprises, not just for the audience, but also for the group themselves, and it is these suprises that are going to take me a while to complete. Don't forget to listen to an MP3 or two. You can find these not only on the MP3 page but there is also a link on the lyrics page by the respective lyric. Still sifting through live recordings so this will be an ongoing process. Call back regularly for updates. |
| The
group was formed in May 1998 by Wayne, Sue & Carrie Gardner, to allow
children of all abilities the chance to sing and dance to professional backing
and in a professional setting for an affordable price. (Carrie has now moved on and two years ago earned a diploma at Vocal Tech college in Acton, London before taking a couple of years off to earn and travel. Carrie is now half way through a three year Bachelor of Music (Hons) Degree in Popular Music Performance at VocalTech.) We are situated in Durrington which is 10 miles from Salisbury in Wiltshire, and about 3 miles, as the crow flies, from Stonehenge. Initially we met in our lounge. Including Carrie, there were then 5 kids. Within a matter of weeks our ranks had swelled to 15 and we moved to the Church Hall in Durrington. In 2004 we moved rehearsals to the Dance Studio which is on Stonehenge Road in Durrington. There is a lot more room and includes a large wall mirror, which is great for practicing the dances. We hold major concerts twice a year, usually in the Durrington Village Hall, and are always willing to perform at local events, fetes and fundays. Each of our main concerts have a theme, such as; Songs from the Movies, Songs from the Stage, etc, where the second half of the show is totally dedicated to the theme. The first half is always pop songs, not always from today, sometimes we resurrect oldies. See performances page for next concert and other gig details.

The group is now run by Wayne & Sue Gardner, but it has always been, and hopefully will remain, essentially the kids group. We are just there to provide them with the opportunity to sing and dance to professional backing with professional equipment and to guide them with advice about singing harmonies etc. Hopefully, the odd one or two will get "the bug" and go on to make a profession in entertainment. The weekly price has gone up a little over the years with growing costs, but we still run the group, self funded, as a none profit organisation at a price we believe is still accessible by all. (Please see "Your Help" page). |
Please,
take a look around. Don't forget to look at the performances page to
find out where you can see the group, and if you would like to join or
book us for your local event, pop into the contacts page and give us a
call.
